The National Museum of Contemporary Art Romania and Friends of MNAC Association in partnership with Orange Foundation Romania are pleased to announce the opening of SenzArt call for applications. SenzArt is dedicated to those suffering from visual and hearing impairment and wishes to promote to the general public the possibilities of contemporary art for communicating its messages on so many different levels of perception and with such a variety of means of expression, actively acting as a facilitator for communication. A number of 4 projects of interactive contemporary art will be selected for production with an allocated budget of 5,000 EUR each. The call is open for artists aged 18 to 45 and puts a strong emphasis on interactivity and the use of new digital technologies.

Organizarea conform legii, în ianuarie 2014, a concursului pentru desemnarea viitorului Manager al MNAC ne oferă prilejul să vă adresăm această SCRISOARE DESCHISĂ, care sintetizează într-un mod transparent nu doar așteptările, ci și solicitările scenei artei contemporane românești în raport cu direcția și evoluția activității viitoare a MNAC. În vederea identificării acestor așteptări concretizate în solicitările anexate prezentei scrisori, Asociația Amicii MNAC a organizat în data de 22 noiembrie 2013 o masă rotundă la care au fost invitați să participe persoane active în scena artei contemporane românești, fie instituțional, fie reprezentând o opinie puternică și credibilă prin prisma personalității naționale sau internaționale: artiști, galeriști, curatori, critici și istorici de artă, cadre universitare, presă de specialitate, casă de licitație, colecționari.
FRI 22nd of Nov 2013, 10h00 – 15h00, Friends of MNAC Association held at MNAC Anexa (62-68 Calea Mosilor Street) a round table on the subject of “MNAC and the expectations of Romanian contemporary art scene”. 28 artists, curators, gallerists, art collectors, art critics and historians took part directly or indirectly in a meeting with the acting manager of MNAC to discuss relevant issues of contemporary art.

April 10, 2013 - April 13, 2014 MNAC / The National Museum of Contemporary Art in Bucharest proudly presents Mircea Cantor: Q.E.D., the first solo exhibition in Romania of one of the most important young artists to emerge on the international art scene over the last decade. Q.E.D. is the largest survey of Mircea Cantor’s practice to date, comprising 30 titles: photographs, videos, drawings and sculptures, from his 1999 The Origin of the World (After Courbet), a work that triggered Cantor’s expatriation to France, to the recent Sic Transit Gloria Mundi (2012), and to Business Class Worried (2013), especially created for this exhibition.
AMNAC participated in the fifth edition of the "Romanian Liberal Professions Day".
THU, 21st of June 2012, the first fund raising event of the year was scheduled to happen at MNAC.
